June 22, 2011

Today for class we had to read four articles and talk about what I've learned. The articles were about How to delete Tatics from Social Media Stratergy, How to make You-Tube part of your Social Media,  Secrets of Social Media and a Blog on Leadership for your company.

On the article how to delete Tatics from social media stratergy, there are seven ways to delete the tatics.  One is A Bloated Stratergy Doc which will help put a stop to using 50 page stratergy documents to advoid doing anything, and start doing deadlines to help to move on to the next big thing. Second is Product-Centric Content, people use it as a tool to build and generate leads.  Third is Guessing , implying that not to just guess what to write about on your website but to get the right amount of imforation correctly.  Fourth are  Multiple Social Media Profiles on One Network, having more then one business company to your network page is very difficult.  Fifth is Useless Links the links you share on your page should have a purpose.  Sixth is Jargon means that you dont care enough for your company to use words or terminology that resonates with them.  And finally the seventh is Assumptions meaning keep sharing your information with everyone just because its old doesnt mean everyone has seen it.

The second Article I read was about you-tube.  It talks about the site and how its good for social media and how you can interact with people.  It says that even though the topic you put in the search page may not be the same thing as what your video is about but it might appear because of how many views it has and people keep browsing through so it might appear a couple times.  It also says that you can add friends so they can see your page, like someone elses video, add comments and put an about me section on your homepage so everyone can see who you are and etc.

The secrets of social media was the third article I read and it talks about how to build business and brands.  About hiring people it says that to hire people with experience, they dont have to be an expert but it would help if they were.... A firm should promote a diologue because a listener will be more likely to accept judgement from a conversation going on. Next recommendors had an average huge impact on purchases that are 80 percent.

The last article talks about how you don't have to be to cautious.  Also says that Facebook and twitter should be your first stop because people are most likely to be listening to their friends.  Businesses that have difficulties go on the web to help build relationships with co-workers.
